Dario Gjergja Claims €350,000 from Limoges CSP

Dario Gjergja has officially initiated legal proceedings before the Limoges Labor Court against his former employer, as reported by Le Populaire.

A Contract Running Until June 2028

Having joined CSP in the summer of 2025 from Ostend, where he had been working since 2011, Dario Gjergja signed a two-season contract until June 2027. On November 10, 2025, in the middle of the season and despite a challenging sporting context due to injuries, the Limoges management chose to extend his contract until June 2028. At the time, the club expressed its complete confidence in its coach and staff, emphasizing a clear game plan focused on demands, youth development, and team culture. When the contract was terminated, it still had two full seasons remaining.

Suspension on April 7th, Dismissal on the 24th

On April 7, 2026, following four consecutive defeats and with CSP in danger of relegation from Betclic Élite, the club announced the provisional suspension of its coach, pending the outcome of legal proceedings. Towards the end of the season, Limoges had lost 10 of its last 13 matches. On April 24, CSP formalized the termination with a terse statement: "Limoges CSP has decided to end its collaboration with its head coach, Dario GJERGJA." The dismissal was for gross misconduct, a reason that typically deprives the employee of severance pay and notice. It is this qualification that the labor court proceedings will challenge.

Arnaud Tessier Stabilized and Then Retained the Position

The interim role was entrusted to Arnaud Tessier, CSP's 22nd coach since 2000, a record of instability in France. Having previously coached Challans, Les Sables Vendée, and Nantes, Tessier arrived in Limoges in 2020 to lead the reserve team, was named best young coach in 2022, and won the Trophée du Futur with JL Bourg in 2024. He finished the season with the support of Maxence Broyer and secured the team's survival in the league. The management, which had been rumored to be pursuing Pierric Poupet, ultimately confirmed Tessier as the head coach of the first team. Dario Gjergja, meanwhile, remains the manager of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, a position he has held since November 2025 and will continue until 2029.
